Planning a Winter Wedding in a Hot Climate

by Niki - Inspired Bride Leave a Comment

Winter weddings are absolutely magical, but if you’re like me and you live in an area where you’re lucky to get a hard freeze or two, it can be kind of hard to find the inspiration you need. With the following tips, you can bring plenty of that magic of winter to your wedding, even if you won’t get a single real snowflake!

Make “Snow” for the Bride to Walk On

It’s as simple as getting a white carpet runner and sprinkling white or silver glitter into it – it creates the illusion of walking on snow to get to the altar. Plus, it can be easily cleaned with a vacuum so it wouldn’t be a problem to rent a carpet for the aisle.

Make Use of Lighting

Whether you’re decorating or you’re hiring a decorator, make sure that lighting is used to its full potential. Soft, blue lights can give the illusion of “cold” and make a room feel more wintery than it really is.

Use Winter Colors in Your Decor

There are just some color combinations that feel like winter. For instance, silver and blue have a very cool feel and definitely go with the season. But it’s not just cool colors that are perfect; red and silver also have a very winter-ish, holiday feel.

 Have Guests Throw “Snow”

Rather than rice or confetti, have your guests throw snow as you and your groom leave the reception! There’s a great biodegradable product called Ecofetti that works perfectly as fake snow and will really be gorgeous for pictures.

Embrace the winter with these fun ideas for bringing the coldest season to the warmest climates for a beautiful winter wedding.
