Wouldn’t the world be an easier place if we weren’t governed by too much “you should pair this with that” or “that doesn’t go well with that” – same thing goes to wedding. I know we have stylistics and palettes to go with everything and there’s a reason it exists. And that’s because it’s been tried and tested. But once in a while, there’s this bride who doesn’t care for your rules and color wheels; where she’ll make us of the things she wants no matter what. And that’s why we have this amazing feature for you today! Julia, our bride, did what some of us are scared to do – to completely follow their own personal preference. So what if it doesn’t match? But despite that thinking, this wedding turned out beautifully, right? Nothing looked out of place (only goes to show that this lady has some mighty fine taste). Anyway, enjoy this feature of two lovely people – congratulations Julia & Simon!

When I first spoke to Julia one thing was obvious, this was no ordinary bride!  A breath of fresh air which followed thereafter with a whole new ballpark when it came to planning and designing her dream wedding, Julia and Simon wanted their day to be just that ….”theirs!”  She’s not only a sight for sore eyes, beautiful and charming, but a hopeless romantic  as well.

It is very easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of wedding planning, the array of magazines, and wedding blogs (Pinterest, The Knot, etc.).  Our bride was sure about one thing NONE of that.  She did not want linens to match flowers and flowers to match bridesmaids, etc., whatever she liked was going to be a part of her big day.

Simon, is how can I put it?  A RIOT!  I absolutely love his energy, his spirit and his enthusiasm  about his wedding, and trust me this groom was very much a part of the planning and the inspiration! Easy on the eyes and  a way with words and actions, this fella is also a hopeless and timeless romantic.  While on a date, he scurried for a cocktail napkin as Julia left for the powder room.  In his own words  wrote, “will you be my girlfriend?”, complete with a yes and a no box. Julia said yes!

Who would think that their 4 years of courting, Simon keeps the napkin and then on the other side of the napkin writes “will you marry me?”… again a yes and no box and the rest is history!   He is actually quite the charmer with an amazing sense of humor, Julia, you are going to have your hands full for a very long time…. It’s a great thing I might add and I am very excited about this couple and their big bright future.
