Nautical Family Wedding on Mackinac Island

by Car Leave a Comment

If you’re a big fan of nautical themes and the outdoors, then we have a treat for you! Lindsey and Conner had the perfect wedding. They selected the gorgeous destination of Mackinac Island for their event and celebrated the day with their closest family and friends. Under sunny skies and a horse-drawn carriage, they were able to stop at a few locations on the island for portraits before heading back to the reception for dinner, dancing, and of course fudge. No wedding on Mackinac Island is complete without fudge! In fact, the couple even had a slab of fudge for their “wedding cake”! The decor was mostly DIY. The couple incorporated nautical details in every aspect of the wedding from “tying the knot” during the ceremony, to the reception decor (the little table assignment boats were especially adorable!). All the nautical décors and the gorgeous venue add to the outdoor feel of the celebration – it even brings out the simple but gorgeous flowers and complements their all-white wardrobe. But don’t let me spoil any more of this set. If you start scrolling, you’ll see what I mean through these snaps by Rockhill Studio. Enjoy!

Take this Advice

For couple’s still in the planning process, if your wedding is a destination wedding like this couple’s wedding was, don’t be afraid of DIY details! You can still have a small intimate wedding with amazing details that don’t break the bank! ~Rebecca Kenny/Photographer
