The 5 Most Popular Lace Wedding Dress Types for Summer 2015

by Niki - Inspired Bride Leave a Comment

Shopping for your wedding dress is a one in a lifetime occasion and an experience that you will remember for the rest of your life, but it can turn into several occasions if you have your heart set on a certain look that seems impossible to find. The 2015 wedding season is in full swing, we’re already seen creative trendy ideas when it comes to wedding cakes. When it comes to dresses, brides this year seem to be moving away from the more traditional satin ball gowns and opting for more unique and sentimental looks; especially those created from lace.

Check out the 5 most popular lace wedding dress types for summer 2015:

1. Colored Lace Gowns

That’s right – if white simply isn’t your color, don’t worry. Brides are choosing gowns in many different shades, and some of the most popular include champagne, purple, blush, pale yellow, pink and even blue. If you’re a really bold bride, you could go with an even more striking color, such as red or black. It’s your wedding, after all! When these colors are created in lace, the overall effect is stunning and memorable.  Choose something that makes you feel fantastic.

2. Applique Lace Gowns

The lace trend is simply not slowing down at all when it comes to wedding gowns. Lace wedding dresses are feminine, elegant and beautiful. If you’re not the type to choose an all lace gown, but you still love the look, find a middle ground with an applique lace gown. These gowns are usually satin, chiffon or another material with lace elements here and there.

3. Beaded Lace Gowns

Women who want a more formal, traditional look that still has that vintage, romantic quality can opt for a beaded lace gown. These are usually highly ornamental and are more appropriate for a formal wedding. These are the kinds of dresses that work very well with a more subtle hair and makeup style. Some are so ornamental that brides can get away with very little or even no accessories. Beaded lace wedding dresses come in a variety of different styles, from figure-fitting sheath dresses to flared ball gowns, so there’s something for every bride.

4. Sheer Lace Gowns

We’ve also seen a big rise in sheer lace gowns for brides, typically worn over a fitted white sheath. These dresses have an Irish lace, vintage quality that brides are absolutely loving. They are perfect for spring and summer weddings and depending upon the style and cut, can work very well for a formal wedding or a more laid-back wedding. If you’re on the hunt for a long-sleeved wedding dress then you’ll love this.

5. True Vintage Lace Wedding Gowns

While there are fewer brides choosing true vintage lace gowns, these are seeing an upward swing. These are often passed down or found in vintage shops, but the price of these beauties often keep brides from going this route. Of course, if money is no object and you have your heart set on a striking vintage lace gown, this may be the best option for you. Specialty shops carrying vintage items are a great place to look for a gown like this.
