Tips for Making Your Wedding Planning Organized

by Chie Leave a Comment

A bride has enough to stress over – from making sure her groomsmen get to the tux fittings to picking the perfect cake flavor. A disorganized bride will have a lot more to stress over – from lost vendor phone numbers to forgotten items. Here are some great tips for making sure your wedding planning is totally organized.

Create a Wedding Day Timeline

It’s too easy for things to get jumbled up if you’re not working with a set schedule. Create a wedding day timeline that will keep things moving forward, and put someone other than yourself in charge of it. This person can keep track of time and make sure things are happening when they’re supposed to.

I personally love this 12-Month Wedding Planner from High Flying Helicopter.

Use a Binder

Purchase a binder and divider tabs so you can break your wedding planning down into sections – you might divide it into sections like:

  • Attire
  • Menu
  • Entertainment
  • Flowers and Décor
  • Vendors
  • Budget

You can section it down however you’d like, as long as you’re breaking it down into smaller bits that are easier to handle. Place clear protective sleeves inside the binder so you can add contract agreements, inspirational pictures, sketches, ideas you’ve jotted down and more.

Number Your RSVP Cards

Sometimes, you might get an RSVP card back that doesn’t have a name on it. If this happens, you have no idea who may be declining your invitation or accepting it. By numbering your cards and creating a corresponding numbered list of guests, you will know exactly who it’s from. If you don’t want the numbers to show, use an invisible ink pen that shows only with special light.

Keep a Budget Checklist

Make sure you’re keeping track of everything spent by keeping a budget checklist. It could be in your binder or on a dry erase board in your craft room – wherever you’d like. Just keep a running total of the money spent in every area of your wedding (flowers, menu, entertainment, etc.) and the amount of money you have left in your budget. This will keep you on track and prevent you from overspending.

By using these tricks to help you organize your wedding planning, you can make sure your wedding is a success and reduce the amount of stress you suffer with!
