The ‘One Month until My Wedding’ Hair Therapy Plan

by Niki - Inspired Bride Leave a Comment

A bride wants every part of her wedding to be perfect, including herself! It’s important to look your best for the big day and for photos, but sometimes, the daily abuse hair is subjected to can leave it damaged and dull-looking. Using this hair therapy plan that starts one month before the wedding, you can make sure your hair looks super soft, shiny and beautiful.

One Month Before:

One month before the wedding, you need to have your hair trimmed – the dead ends and split ends cut off. You don’t have to cut much off – half an inch is plenty! You’re also going to want to start deep-conditioning your hair. You can use your favorite deep-conditioning product, or you can create your own using ingredients you probably already have.

For instance, mayonnaise has long been hailed as a great hair conditioner mainly because of its ingredients of eggs and oil. Olive oil is fantastic for hair and can be placed on the hair for an hour at a time once per week to deep-condition. In addition to trimming and deep-conditioning your hair, you need to stop washing it every day. At least for this month, wait a minimum of 48 hours between shampoos. If possible, don’t use any heat styling tools on your hair during this time.

Two Weeks Before:

Two weeks before the wedding, start daily coconut oil hair treatments. Simply place the coconut oil on the hair and allow it to stay for at least 15 minutes. Then, wash the hair out normally with a very mild shampoo – baby shampoo is great for this purpose. If the ends of your hair still look damaged, you can sleep with the coconut oil treatment on the ends of your hair – just place a shower cap over your hair to avoid damage to sheets or pillow cases.

The Week Before:

Now that your hair has been babied for the last month, you have probably already started to notice big improvements in the way your hair looks and feels. The week before your wedding, you can stop doing the daily coconut oil treatments and give your hair a resting period before the big day. Wash as you normally would and use conditioner after shampooing.

This treatment plan will ensure that your hair is lustrous and beautiful for your big day!
