A vacation turned proposal turned engagement shoot – what a lovely way to cap off a romantic holiday in the city of Rome, Italy. After that very special moment when Andrew asked Sundari’s hand for marriage (spoiler alert: she said ‘Yes’) which was sneakily documented, they then proceeded on with their engagement shoot by the tourist spots in the area. What a smart beau! Also, I think that this is an awesome idea because the rush from the proposal is still fresh and it would be a bit easier for the couple to pose around affectionately in front of the camera and in public. Congratulations Andrew & Sundari!
Read on to know the story our bride-to-be shared with regards to this sweet love story…
What is your story as a couple, how did you meet & fall in love?
We were introduced by my elder brother’s childhood friend, Simon. Andy had been on a ski-ing holiday with him when he began to roll the ball in introducing us to each other. I’d known Simon since I was super young and laughed at him trying to set me up however he seemed to think Andy & I would be a great match. He was totally right. After a few nervous online chats we agreed to meet for a date after work – we instantly clicked & had another date a few days later and it was like magic. We just knew! We instantly began a relationship and I guess the rest they say is history! 2 and a half years later we’re engaged!
What makes the two of you a perfect match?
We are sometimes polar opposites & other times exactly the same. We love the same things however have quite different personalities, whilst I am loud & animated, Andy is a calm, chilled out kinda guy! We balance each other out.
How did he (or you) propose?
We were on a lovely summer holiday in Rome! It was the 2nd day in and Andy had organised Andrea to sneakily follow us and capture him asking the big Q! Andy told me we were off to the Opera that evening so I dressed up a little and he took me to Piazza Navona for some pre-opera bellinis. We kept wandered around the lanes nearby to find a nice place for a drink when eventually we ended up right near the Piazza in a little bar. I only noticed something was up when Andy got super fidgety and was stressing at how long the drinks were taking.
Once they arrived I knew it was about to happen when he announced “Right, I’m going to do this” I went into utter shock & couldn’t believe what was happening. it was such a magical moment & I’m so glad we have it all captured as it was such a blur of emotion for me. The moment Andy told me he’d organised a photographer & an engagement shoot, I couldn’t help but laugh! He also had one of my closest friends Gemma create some beautiful calligraphy signs for us to use in an engagement shoot right after the proposal & as soon as I knew she was involved in it all blubbered even more.
The proposal & engagement shoot was everything I could have dreamt of and more. Andrea took us to some of the most beautiful spots for the shoot. The historical parts of the city hold a special place in both our hearts as we’re both lovers of the ancient world as well as Andy’s parents both being classics teachers! Everyone was gobsmacked by the beautiful shot of us right near the Colosseum
