One Beautiful Sunny Day

by Lauren Leave a Comment

Set by the river with a mountain backdrop and gorgeous floral arrangements, a whole lot of charm and class overflowed on Janine and Mike’s big day. Everything appeared rustically vintage with the antique silverwares, mercury glasses, and barks. Add the modern twist of soft colored flowers and docile bouquets, cozy and airy romantic feels were felt in this beautiful sunny day. Just wow. Congratulations, Janine and Mike!

The Album Story

Circumstances brought me into Janine and Mike’s life only a few months before the wedding but I couldn’t be happier they did! Our relationship had to progress quickly and in a way I think that was even better! After a wonderful engagement session, I knew we’d have a great time with their wedding photos.

The wedding took place on one of the hottest days of the year at one of my all-time favorite venues: The Fraser River Fishing Lodge in Agassiz, BC. Wow, what a venue. Set by the river with a gorgeous mountain backdrop that looks like it’s out of a movie and it’s very own buffalo that live on site, the Lodge couldn’t be more photogenic if it tried. With the surrounding scenery, gorgeous floral arrangements and decor and a whole lot of charm and class, Janine and Mike braved the hot sun and said I do in front of their friends and family. It was a truly romantic day. Almost a year later, I’m happy to call this gorgeous couple my friends!

The Theme

From the bride:

Since we are both into spending time outdoors, we knew we wanted a venue that reflected this. The Fraser Lodge fit us perfectly as we spend many days of our summers in Harrison and the Fraser river. I would call our “theme” Vintage Rustic with a bit of a modern twist. I envision it being airy with soft colours with a romantic cozy feel. We are incorporating antique silverware, mercury glass, metallics and bark and wood in our decor. We want the day to feel casual and not ‘stuffy’ but also still refined.

The Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Projects

There was a lot of intimate decor such as numerous picture frames with photos from the engagement session or their travels.

Highlights From the Ceremony and the Reception

The highlight at the ceremony was the intimate vow exchange between family and friends in front of the very scenic backdrop, with the officiant ending with some very touching words of advice for their life together. At the reception, I loved the decor, the speeches and the first dance. Even though it wasn’t a small wedding, it somehow managed to feel quite intimate!

Favorite Part of the Day

My favourite part was doing the formal photographs with the couple in front of the majestic mountains .. I absolutely love that view and feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to photograph there multiple times. I also loved the ceremony, it was so intimate and touching!

A Memorable Moment

I think just promising themselves to each other on a beautiful sunny day, in front of the majestic mountains and surrounded by their closest family and friends.
