Dreamy Bahamas Honeymoon Destinations

by Niki - Inspired Bride Leave a Comment

The views from Nassau might just be some of the most beautiful in the world

The views from Nassau might just be some of the most beautiful in the world

The Bahamas is such a beautiful place to spend your honeymoon. The soft sandy beaches, crystal clear water and famous Bahamian hospitality make these islands feel truly like paradise.

If you’re blowing the budget then there are options galore, but even those who are trying to be a little careful with their cash can afford an island getaway to remember for a lifetime.

The Orchard Garden Hotel, Montagu, Budget

It’s no secret that the Bahamas is an expensive place to visit, however if you’re careful with the cost of accommodation when planning your honeymoon, then you’ll have plenty of spending money for elsewhere.

Orchard Garden Hotel offers simple, but clean and comfortable accommodation for truly bargainous prices. It is such a historic hotel that even the Duke and Duchess of Windsor have stayed here! The most popular option for couples are the cottages. These cute little pink bungalows look out onto the pool and gardens  and provide you with a sense of total privacy.

The gardens at the hotel are beautifully maintained and their plethora of fruit and palm trees makes them very popular with hummingbirds, parrots and other exotic birds. The owner of the hotel is a keen gardener, in fact you may even spot him tending to the tropical plants during your stay. A breakfast spent bird watching here would make anyone a truly special memory.

The Atlantis Resort, Nassau – The Mid Range

The Atlantis Resort is home to hundreds of species of tropical fish

There are plenty of Bahamas travel guides that mention the Atlantis Resort as one of the best places to stay, and for good reason!  The resort, situated just to the north of Downtown Nassau, is recognized as a sprawling sunshine wonderland.

As well as being a truly luxury resort experience, it also boasts an enormous habitat for some incredible sea-life and even features its own waterpark, Aquaventure. This 141-acre waterpark features 20 different swimming areas, a mile-long river ride and dozens of watersides fit for all comers.

As well as enough ocean entertainment to keep any couple amused, the rooms and suites that are on offer are truly breathtaking. If you’re trying to be a little sensible with the budget, then it’s best to opt for a Regal Suite. These rooms are spacious, well appointed and offer outside views whichever room you’re assigned. Each room has a lounge area and is only steps away from a private beach, gourmet restaurants and the beautiful Mandara Spa.

If you have a larger budget then the Atlantis Resort offers incredible accommodation in the form of the Bridge Suite. This suite is the most premier in the resort and it sits in the ‘bridge’ between the two main buildings. This location means that the views are truly breathtaking from each of the ten beautifully appointed rooms.

Within the ten rooms, you’ll find a baroque dining room complete with a golden chandelier and a piano room. In order to make your day as comfortable as possible, seven staff members will be on hand at all times. True luxury.

The Tiamo Resort prides itself on exclusivity. Reachable only by chartered boat or seaplane, this stunning resort is a true island paradise. The whole resort is made up of only 10 villas, which means you’ll always receive the utmost care and attention and of course, the resort will certainly never feel crowded.

As well as the sense of exclusivity and peacefulness, the surroundings are the star attraction at Tiamo. This truly tropical island has everything you could want from a paradise, white sands, pristinely clear waters and incredible tropical flora and fauna.

Getting in touch with nature is actively encouraged by the resort, so allow them to organised sailing, snorkeling and scuba diving trips for you. Of course, if you’re not feeling so active, simply find yourself a cushioned deckchair and relax under the Caribbean sun.
