4 Out of the Box Venue Ideas for the Unconventional Couple

by Bonnie Leave a Comment

There are many wedding venues that are tried and true. Maybe you’ve attended weddings in churches, gardens, or vinyards. But have you ever been to a wedding in a canyon, or on a boat? How about at a zoo? Here are some wild and zany venue ideas for the unconventional couple.

  1. Among the rocks in a colorful canyon

Red rock canyons make stunning backdrops for almost any activity — so why not a wedding? A boho bride and her man might tie the knot while standing on a scenic overlook, or you could find a slot canyon or rocky cave to shelter your ceremony.

2. On top of a mountain — a hike-to affair!

Are you passionate about hiking and the outdoors? Celebrate your love for nature and each other by hosting a hike-to wedding. Your fit friends and family will enjoy the excuse to hit the trails. Hopefully, your wedding veil will go with your hiking boots!

3. On a boat, on the ocean or a lake

Looking for a way to add a sense of fun and adventure to your ceremony? Have it out on the waves, in a boat! This would work on the ocean or on a lake, but beware — your special day is going to be weather-dependent. You don’t want to be out on the open sea when the perfect storm is brewing!

4. At a zoo, among fur and feathered friends

Animals lovers might tie the knot among fur and feathered friends — and some human friends, too, of course! This will be highly entertaining for guests, and will make your event stand apart from all the rest.

What do you think of these unique wedding venue ideas? Which one is your favorite? Leave a comment, below!
