Match Made in Log Haven

by Chelsea Leave a Comment

Alea ♥ Jones

The two met in a Bio-engineering class at Utah State University. Joe proposed after he led Alea on top of a mountain after a long, hard hike up a mountain (not on some manicured path by the way, he made his own). It was just the two of them which is just how she wanted it. When Alea saw where they would be standing for their wedding ceremony,  the scenery took their breath away. She always wanted a mountain wedding and Log Haven had the perfect setting.

A bit about the wedding from the bride herself:

The wedding attire. I had a champagne colored dress with a white mesh fabric that went over it. It was a one strap dress with a pretty sash that came off the shoulder strap and flowed down to mid waist. I had a fancy bun on the opposite side of the strap to help even the look out. I also went with a veil to help complete the bridal look as it matched the mesh on the dress and made the overall look elegant and almost vintage. He rented a tuxedo from Men’s Warehouse with a champagne tie to match my dress.

The first look. I wanted to have time after the ceremony to be able to talk to friends and family that I hadn’t been able to see in a while, instead of having to take pictures during that time. I am so happy we made that decision because it was so fun talking to my guests and enjoying everything I had prepared before then.

Ceremony music. We had a harpist, Artemisha Farnsworth, come in and play music before and after the ceremony.Officiant:We had one of the groom’s cousins get certified to be our officiant. It was much more special for us to have it that way.

Wedding programs. We did a celtic hand tying ceremony that was symbolic of the parts of our lives that would be tied together by being married.

Favorite ceremony memory. The moment I put the ring on Joe’s finger there was a huge clap of thunder that shook the ground. It was amazing to have mother nature with us there so intimately!

The wedding flowers. I had pink and peach roses with a few burgundy dahlia’s and cala lillies in the bouquet. I also had blue-green leaves in the bouquet, I forgot what they are called! I also had burgundy amaranthus hanging down from the bouquet. My bouquet was one of my favorite decorations from the wedding.

Extra Special Details

The Do It Yourself (DIY) prjects. The pew aisle cones, table numbers, wedding favors, and table sign in. The table sign in was another idea Alea found on Pinterest. They had each guest sign a fabric square that we will later make into a quilt.

Wedding favors. The wedding favors were peach champagne glasses with each guests name etched into the glass.

The color palette.  Pink, peach and burgundy. Pink and peach gave a pretty, elegant appearance while the pop of burgundy added a break to the pink hue but still matched the color palette well.

Heed Her Advice!

When planning always keep in mind that the most important part of everything is the fact that you are getting married to someone you love and who loves you! There is something that will not go as planned on your wedding day, no one is an exception!
