A Glittery Kind of Day

by Chelsea Leave a Comment

Being one of The Golden Girls from the Mizzou, it was only fitting that Bridget incorporate some form of gold into her wedding. The sparkling details paid tribute to where she and Blake met – their Alma Mater. What’s even more noteworthy, the massive storm right before their ceremony didn’t stop the two from saying their vows. We absolutely adore this glittery kind of day so see for yourselves too! Let’s take it from the photographer, Amy Meyerott of Meyerott Photography & Cinema, as she shares details of this wonderful day. Lots of love and laughter on your life together, Bridget and Blake!

Extra Special Details

To avoid the summer heat, Bridget and Blake rented out the Presidential Suite at the Magnolia Hotel in Saint Louis for their first look and for Wedding Party Portraits. It was the perfect, private setting for an intimate first look.

At last minute, the wedding had to be moved inside due to one of St. Louis’ mid afternoon thunderstorms. The feather adorned altar made it in just in time for the storm to hit. Although we dreamed of having their ceremony on the rooftop overlooking the city, we were wed in a more intimate setting, safe from the lightning that struck the rooftop during the ceremony.

Their one-year old daughter was their flower girl. She had a dance with her daddy and at the end mom joined in.

The Photographer’s Advice

♥ Do the first look! The intimacy and privacy given to us was priceless. I would suggest everyone have a first look so you can have those moments just between the two of you.

♥ Even if you don’t think you need a planner you need one! Hire someone who shares your heart and your vision. We wouldn’t have known about so many of our vendors without our planner letting us in on who would be the best to help with our wedding.

♥ At the end of the day, you’re still getting married. We had so many things go wrong on our wedding day. Our planner had the stomach flu, lightning struck the roof, and various other things went wrong. All of that paled in comparison to the fact that we got married!
