The randomness and eclecticism of some of the details in this wedding gave it so much charm and value that we’re sure future brides out there can find something they’ll want to re-create. And everything was just executed lovely that it all came together to become an amazing wedding. It was  a perfect blend of soft touches and shabby details that not one thing looked out of place.

Here is what their photographer had to say about that very special day

What do you think is the overall story for this album?

Amanda and Ben met in college. They started out as friends, but Ben had a different idea. After a year of Ben trying to woo Amanda, she finally gave him a chance, and fell for him. A year and a half later, Ben proposed on Amanda’s birthday. Ben and Amanda describe their relationship as a joyful, funny, unpredictable adventure, and their wedding was nothing less! The River Market Event Place in Kansas City is such a unique venue, with a balcony that gives the photographer a bird’s eye view of the ceremony and reception. Amanda and Ben’s eclectic vintage feel fit the feel of the space perfectly! The dance floor was packed all night, and a dance off even broke out. The most important part of Amanda and Ben’s wedding day was the people and the atmosphere, and surrounded by their family and friends, their wedding day was just that!

What was your favorite part of the day?

I have two, the first was the ceremony, due to the unique ceremony site available at the River Market Event Place venue. I love the birds eye view it gave for the whole ceremony, but especially their kiss and pronouncement as husband and wife. The second was the dance. Everyone was on the dance floor all night, including Amanda and Ben!

What were the highlights from the ceremony & reception?

Amanda and Ben had a different take on the Unity Candle, where their mothers both poured oil in an oil lamp together, then Amanda and Ben lit the lamp. A very sweet take on an old tradition! Ben’s brother also played guitar during their ceremony. And I love that Amanda’s bridesmaids all picked different dresses in various shades of ivory, pink and grey. It fit with the eclectic, but vintage feel of their day.
