It seems like one of the most popular times to bust out the glitter (for practically everything) is during the holiday season. Whether it’s silver and gold or a rainbow of colors, glitter, used in the right way, can add a gorgeous sparkle to everything from decor to outfits. Yes, there’s no better time to get your hands on some sparkly goods than now, especially if you’re planning a bridal shower during this time of year. But let’s be honest, any time is a good time to perfect your party with sparkle and shine. Here are some simple ways to brighten your bridal shower and have your guests all starry eyed.

1) Stick It To Them

Glitter stickers are an easy and affordable way to add sparkle to bridal shower decorations, favor packaging, and food. Top the cupcakes or cake with glittering letters that spell out the bride’s name or something relevant like “LOVE.” Stick glittering hearts on gift bags and boxes, drink containers and straws. Gold glitter looks good with almost any color (but especially pink, no?), so it’s a safe bet when deciding on which glittering color to use. It also adds a bit of luxury and elegance to the party vibe.

2) Send Them Sparkle

You can set the twinkling tone of the bridal shower long before guests actually arrive at the door. Start with an invitation that incorporates glitter either on the invitation itself or with a glitter-lined envelope…or both! And just as you send them sparkle before the party, you can send them home with something sparkly, like a glitter-dipped mini bottle of champagne or wine. If you want to do it yourself, check out Camp Makery’s tutorial to get an idea of how to create a glitter ombre effect on a champagne bottle.

3) Dress The Table

Sequins are just as splendid as glitter and can add shine like nobody’s business. Use a full sequin tablecloth if the tables are rounded or a sequin runner if you’re using long, rectangular tables. You could also decorate the dessert table with a sequin cloth instead of decking out the guest tables. It just depends on how much sparkle you want to add. Just remember, sometimes less is more.

4) Dress The Part

I think inviting the bridal shower guests to get gussied up in sparkling attire is a great way to add a festive shine to the party, especially if you don’t want to use a lot of glitter and sequins elsewhere. Having guests don the sparkle makes for great photos and they kind of become the decor, which means every photo will be a sparkling one!

5) Let The Sparks Fly

You don’t have to wait until wedding day to use sparklers. Take the bridal shower up a notch by providing guests with sparklers to use once evening comes. Then have a professional photographer or camera-friendly family member/friend take photos of the bride and guests lighting up the night.

The best thing about these ideas is that they can be used for any event, from bridal showers and bachelorette parties to birthdays and holiday get-togethers. And of course, weddings! So whether you’re ringing in the new year or the bride-to-be’s new title, do it in style with a bit of sparkle!
