A pre-wedding shoot in complete ensemble is not common due to the belief that it’s bad luck for the groom to see the bride in her gown before the actual ceremony, although it is slowly getting popular. And Alex & Leila’s session might change people’s uncertainty because look how awesome the pictures are. Aside from that, it’s a nice way to get acquainted with your photographer and his/her style which will help on the actual wedding itself. You’ll know your best angles and you can milk that to produce good looking photos. And of course, it’s simply fun to have a romantic photo session with your betrothed without all the pretenses and stress of the planning. I honestly love this idea and photo shoot and I’m sure you guys will too. Rome is, after all, one of the most romantic places ever. Congratulations Alex & Leila

What is the overall story for this album?

This amazing wedding portrait session comes to us from Mike Kire, based in Rome, Italy!

Here’s what Mike has to say about the shoot:
Alex and Leila are an amazing couple, it was a pleasure to spend a few hours with both of them, getting to know them better and capturing their photos around the streets and alleys of Rome and then at the Castel Sant’angelo. We started off near the Colosseum and made our way closer into the central city of Rome. Pre-wedding shoots are getting more and more popular among couples from all over the world. To ensure an exotic background, the bride and groom leave their city or country and enjoy a short holiday in a romantic environment. There they hire a photographer and have themselves shot in romantic spots, in most cases wearing their wedding suit. As the couple is shot by themselves, without relatives and friends, bride and groom are usually more relaxed and prone to spontaneously express their feelings. At the same time they are usually very excited due to the new environment and the chance they have to taste in advance the delights of the wedding day: make-up, bridal fitting, photo shooting, etc.

The couple enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere while experiencing a professional photo service, which might have helped them later during their wedding photo shooting. A nice example of a beautiful pre-wedding photo service is the one I shot for this young couple from Georgia: Leila and Alex enjoyed a short holiday in Rome before getting married and treated themselves with a prewedding photo service. This allowed them to get acquainted with their beautiful wedding suites, discover the city in both its most romantic spots and less famous areas, try different poses and play with each other. I guess this helped them a lot during their wedding photo shooting back in Georgia, making them feel more at ease with the photographer’s work.
