Fur Coats & Snow Caps

by Lauren Leave a Comment

Silver, grey, and lots of sparkles! Yup, Alyssa and Kyle’s winter-inspired wedding is crisp with wintertide goodies. Snowflakes were on tablecloths, on top of pinecones, and on Alyssa’s Vera Wang dress whilst contrasts were seen in all other elements. To name a few — ivory-colored fur coats, wood blocks as table numbers, and the purple up-lighting set-up. It was just brilliant! Whistle carols with me as we dip into their frosty wedding photos. This is the time when the pinecones glistened, and a lot of great stuff happened for reminiscin’! May all your days be merry and bright, Lyss and Kyle!

The Album Story

Alyssa and Kyle met when they were only 14 and Alyssa swears she knew he was “the one” since that moment. The bride loves the winter and, as her father would say, enjoys the “finer things in life” and their wedding was all that and more.

The Theme

The theme for the wedding was definitely winter — silver and grey and lots of sparkle! The bride’s Vera Wang dress had detailing that looked like snowflakes. The bride wore her grandmother’s vintage fur coat outside and the bridesmaids had coordinating white fur shrugs. The place cards were pine cones with “snow” on theme, with snow covering the table as well.

Highlights From the Ceremony and the Reception

Alyssa and Kyle had a traditional church ceremony. However, they still wrote their own vows which was the highlight of the ceremony. Kyle’s vows ended with he vowed to still love Alyssa, even if the Ravens lost the playoff game that afternoon — which they did. (One week prior to their wedding we learned that the Baltimore Ravens — their favorite team — would kick-off a playoff game against the Patriots just as they were saying their I Do’s.)

Another highlight was seeing Kyle tear up as he watched his bride come down the aisle, even though he had seen her prior in a “First Look”.

One great highlight from the reception was the groomsmen and father of the bride doing a dance segment at the suggestion of the dueling pianos. This was a surprise to everyone — including the bride and groom — and was hilarious.

Favorite Part of the Day

Our favorite part of the day was walking into the bridal suite and seeing all of the details put together. Alyssa thought of everything — all of her paper was perfectly coordinated thanks to The Paper Divas, her Kate Spade shoes and clutch were so perfectly chic (like her) and her dress was out of this world.

We also completely love that they wrote their own vows.
