For the love of all things vintage and re-purposed; Jared and Ashley’s wedding has just that perfect balance of rustic and vintage. Oh, and a couple of DIY’s here and there. And did I mention they had a garden wedding? Rustic and nature, yes please! I adore the personalized invitations that matched the theme. Plus, I love the idea of using the mason jars with labels as table names holders. Ain’t that neat and resourceful? We wish Jared and Ashley a beautiful wedded life – congratulations!
Wedding Day Outfit Inspiration:
Ashley’s words: I wanted simple but elegant. The wedding being outside we did not want anything real formal. I wanted both the bridesmaids and the groomsmen to be comfortable, yet go with the theme.
The Theme:
I loved the rustic love bird idea for the reception. My friend showed me the bird cage idea and I fell in love with it. I got the cages at a local craft store, then we filled the cages with artificial flowers and birds. They became part of the centerpieces. We had bird baths, and accents of love birds throughout the reception. Our guest book, we used the idea of fingerprints as leaves on a tree as our guest book. Now it hangs in my family room. I wanted it to be unique but fun. We strung paper lanterns, of different sizes, inside the tent at different lengths. I had gotten globe lights that we strung around the tent. I loved that we had plates, silverware, napkins, and water glasses that we had gotten at estate sales. The mismatched china plates were one of my favorite ideas we used for the table settings.
The Do-It- Yourself (DIY) Projects:
Ashley’s words: Yes. Anna, my friend, and I filled the bird cages with flowers and birds. I made some of the signs and all the bouquets. I took mason jars, sprayed them with Krylon looking glass paint, filled them with flowers. They were placed down the aisle. A couple friends and I decorated the arbor with flowers and tulle. I took old frames and painted them, then used them to hang photos of Jared and I throughout our childhood. My father-i- -law sawed wood pieces and we used them on the table as part of the centerpieces.
The Highlights From The Ceremony & Reception:
Ashley’s words: We really loved the fact that our close friends and family were there to share our special day with us. I was glad to see everyone having a good time. The kids were playing baseball or a board game. The adults were drinking, dancing, and talking. It was just a great time.
Favorite Part of the Day:
Marrying my best friend and having my friends and family there to celebrate with us.
Most Memorable Moment:
I loved walking down the aisle with my grandfather! Seeing my husband and son up there waiting for me warmed my heart. The minister messed up our last name a couple times, which made us laugh. “We now pronounce you Mr. & Mrs. Kellington.” It’s still something we laugh and joke about today.
