Simple, elegant, and rustic — three things Rush and Ruthie wanted at their wedding. And sure did the couple brought out the best in those elements. To stay true to the theme, Ruthie wore a lacy mint green slip-ons and mint green was the wedding motif. She definitely nailed comfort and style with her ensemble! Speaking of style, her bridesmaids were very feminine and elegant in their mint green lace dress too. The couple exchanged “I Do’s” in front of a barn — yes, outside which was unusual but very rustic. That was then followed by the reception in a barn!
It was such a romantic affair complete with the aesthetics of it all. Let’s all look back together through the wonderful photos captured by Jennifer of j.woodbery photography!
The Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Projects:
I was surrounded with very talented friends and family who all pitched in helping with different things! For example, my best friend designed the label for all of our wine bottles and the stamp for our favors, which were muslin bags filled with homemade salted caramels that my incredible sister made!
The Theme:
Rush and I picked three words to build our wedding on simple, elegant, rustic. We wanted the wedding to not be a show, but a real and honest look into our relationship and how much we love one another. We also wanted everyone to have fun so we picked a great band and good food!
Favorite Part of the Day:
My favorite memory from the day was walking down the aisle with my dad to Rush. He said he’d never cry in front of me and he was crying when we finally got to see each other that day. It’s a memory I’ll never forget and always treasure.
The Songs:
We wanted mainly hymns played during our ceremony that we both grew up listening to; it added a personal touch for us and made the ceremony all the more meaningful for me.
Most Memorable Moment:
My favorite memory from the day was walking down the aisle with my dad to Rush. He said he’d never cry in front of me and he was crying when we finally got to see each other that day. It’s a memory I’ll never forget and always treasure.
Advice For Future Brides:
SOAK IT ALL IN. Seriously, it may seem stressful to be trying to bring two families together and trying to please everyone, but it’s such a special and tender time. Try to sit back and enjoy every moment, even the crazy ones! 🙂
