Real Wedding: Vanessa and David, Part One

by Niki - Inspired Bride 3 Comments

As I’ve mentioned before, I love La Partie Events‘ work, and was happy to accept Megan’s offer to show off one of her real weddings. There’s a lot of great eye candy, so rather than agonizing over editing the film too much, I’ve decided to divide the boards up into two pieces: one for Atmosphere, and one for Details. That said, I hand it over to Megan!

“Vanessa and David are a fun-loving, chic couple from Orange County, CA who wanted a relaxed, Zen-inspired affair for their guests. In place of an abundance of flowers or petals on the aisle, I chose to place oversized lanterns and planted succulents directly on the old brick floor. As the ceremony began and the sun went down, the lanterns added a romantic ambiance to the setting. The bamboo chairs also complemented the decor and they were definitely worth the upgraded cost. I always tell my couples that the style of your wedding chairs makes a HUGE difference to the overall feel of the event.

In the reception room, I created the centerpieces with succulents potted in rustic wood boxes. I added brightly colored fresh flowers to them and placed amber tea lights around them to warm up the space. Candles are a cost effective way to add a ton of punch to any event. Guests took centerpieces home with them and can plant the succulents in their yards once they’ve outgrow their original wood boxes.

For the bouquets and other personal flowers, I incorporated yellow and reddish-pink orchids, locally grown “super green” roses and red garden (aka “cabbage”) roses.”

Stay tuned for Part Two later today, which will include links to all of the vendors. Thanks again, Megan from La Partie Events, for sharing!
