Our groom must be so happy to have something he loves the most be in his engagement pictures. Oh, and some graphic novels too. But really, the comic book store provided some really colorful and interesting backdrops for our couple’s engagement photos. After which, they then dressed up, chucked their unique Chucks (pun intended) and went on a “date” shoot in the park. A romantic way to end a whimsical and cute engagement session. Congratulations Amber & Morgan!
Bride:
What is the story behind the geek chic theme?
Morgan is a big fan of Batman and all things Geekery and throughout our relationship he has brought out my own inner geek. Love that.
Why did you choose the location for your engagement session?
As you know Morgan is a big fan of Batman and all things Geekery. We love going into Vancouver and walking, shopping, exploring and trying new foods together. I remember the first time we went downtown together he took me to his favorite comic book shop Golden Age Collectibles and that was when I bought my first Graphic Novel (they are not comic books I have been corrected A LOT). That being said. I thought it was only fitting to try and shoot a portion of our engagement session at Golden Age Collectibles. The rest we left in our photographers fully capable hands.
What inspired your outfits for the engagement session?
We did find and purchase a matching pair of converse from Journeys to wear during the first part of our engagement session. One pair had Batman on them and the other Cat Women. Our favorite comic book characters. I seriously felt like a big kid wearing them. It was the best feeling. We didn’t really have any inspiration for our outfits.
I did check out Pinterest a couple of times for ideas and as a last minute ditch effort I went to MUSE in South Surrey for some help. I always feel lost when I comes to dressing myself for a photoshoot especially this one. Michelle was a HUGE help and very patient with me as I tried on what seemed like the entire store.
