Indigo, Gold and Love to Hold

by Scarlet Leave a Comment

Kat and Dan’s wedding at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis was definitely filled with love and joy! The venue plays a huge role in the overall feel of a wedding, so the words “modern” and “classy” were written all over Kat and Dan’s big day! The couple chose a beautiful view of Minneapolis as a backdrop for their ceremony as they got married surrounded by their loving families and friends! Congratulations, Kat and Dan, for finally tying the knot!

Extra Special Details

As the bride shares,

How we met. My husband and I met and started dating 4 months before he joined the US Air Force. After almost 3 years of long distance dating, we were married on 9/4/2015. Our wedding and reception were held at The Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, MN.

The venue. The place was modern, unique, and intimate for our 120 guest wedding. We had an outdoor ceremony officiated by a mutual friend and we wrote our own vows making the ceremony all the more personal and memorable.

The theme. Wanting a bold and sophisticated color palette, I chose indigo dresses for my bridesmaids accented with gold jewelry and bright floral arrangements. We had an open air photo booth with fun props for entertainment and served miniature cupcakes alongside a candy buffet for dessert.

Her Tips!

  • I know food is expensive but this is certainly a wise place to invest your money! Take your time selecting a caterer or if your venue has limited catering options, make sure you find something you and your guests will enjoy. If you go a little over budget on food, you can usually save money on dessert by bringing your own (candy, popcorn, donuts, cupcakes, etc.)!

  • Having someone you know to perform your wedding ceremony (be it a good friend or trusted religious individual) can make the ceremony more comfortable, personal, and intimate. If you haven’t selected an officiant, I would highly recommend this approach!

  • Know that despite the time and money you’ve put into planning this day, your wedding won’t go exactly as planned. Take a breath, smile, and try to remember that the important part is you’re getting married to the love of your life. If you can do that, you’ll have fun no matter what happens on your wedding day.

Money Matters
