Fun Wedding Idea: Surprise Your Guests with a Wedding

by Niki - Inspired Bride Leave a Comment

A surprise wedding can be a ton of fun. It’s perfect for couples who have been engaged for a while and whose family and friends may have given up hope of attending a wedding. The best kind of surprise wedding is one that is more intimate rather than one with hundreds and hundreds of guests. Here are a few tips to make your surprise wedding come to live.

How to Get the Guests There

You’ll want to tell your guests they’re invited to another kind of special event. You could pretend it’s a recital, an art showing, a play – whatever you think they will believe. Make sure they know it’s an extremely important event so they’re less likely to decline the invitation.

Is There Anyone You Should Tell?

It’s totally up to you whether you keep the secret from everyone or let a few select people in on it. If you’re not opposed to telling a few people, you might want to tell your parents and your future spouse’s parents. This way, they won’t get their feelings hurt because you didn’t tell them.

The Best Kind of Couple for a Surprise Wedding Is…

If you are the kind of person who doesn’t want wedding gifts and just loves the idea of your family and friends celebrating with you, then a surprise wedding can be perfect for you. After all, they won’t have time to buy gifts! It’s also great for a spontaneous couple who is known for doing things on a whim.

Overall, a surprise wedding can be a ton of fun, if you plan on having a more intimate wedding and want to really surprise your friends and family.
