Bringing Beauty From The Stockyards

by Katrin Leave a Comment

Ashley and Brady

Brady and Ashley were an absolute blast during their engagement session in the historical Fort Worth, Stockyards. These two were up for anything and as you can see, we had an absolute ball. Their love for each other and sense of fun is absolutely contagious, causing all the tourists to stop and smile.

Extra Special Details

As the bride shares,

We had pictures taken in a historic “touristy” area. We had people come up and laugh with us while we were doing pictures. One guy even asked our photographer if she had a card. It was great entertaining people visiting the stockyards. We showed up early and had a quick (single) drink before we started our session. We were both nervous before our pictures and thought it would help. We were a little giddy during our session and it really calmed our nerves and helped us act natural and maybe a little on the silly side. We have great outtake shots that we love to laugh at!It didn’t rain! It had rained for most of the morning and was raining on our way to our session, but as soon as we arrived it stopped and it held out the entire time we were outside until we went to the studio! The final product. This wasn’t our first choice in locations, but with the risk of the rain, we needed a location with areas of shelter. When we first got our preview I knew they were perfect. There will be things that come up with your wedding and you will have to change course and that’s okay! I’m so thankful for all the rain as we now have a beautiful collection of pictures for our new home!

Heed Her Advice!

♥ Hire a wedding planner/coordinator! Wedding planning is very stressful. Having someone in the industry to help you pick vendors and to orchestrate your big day will leave you time to enjoy the process! It’s also nice having someone who is completely invested in your happiness at the wedding and who is always there to reel you in when planning makes you a little crazy and you need a reality check!

♥ Find the best wedding photographer your budget can afford. There was only one person I could imagine shooting my wedding. I loved not only her style but her personality! We absolutely loved her and she was the first person we reached out to when we got engaged. This person is responsible for preserving your wedding day. The last thing you want to do is wish you would’ve spent a little more on another photographer.

♥ Ask your fiancé about what important to him. Brady is a “very hands off, whatever makes me happy” mentality. It was important to me that he thought about if there would be anything he wouldn’t want to do or see at the wedding. He came back with two requests. He didn’t want to seeing me prior to walking down the aisle. He wanted that feeling of euphoria seeing me for the first time when the doors opened when I was walking down the aisle to become his wife. He also asked me not to wear veil. He just doesn’t like them thinks they are weird (LOL).
