About

What is The Inspired Bride?
The Inspired Bride is a blog all about planning weddings in a stylish way. From the smallest detail to the biggest decision, IB delivers ideas with taste, innovation, and flair.

What brought about the blog?
In short, a whole lot of things, but mainly, my passion for party planning (I was nicknamed “Martha in Training” in high school for my passion for elaborate entertaining) and my own upcoming wedding on May 31, 2009. It also arose from my inability to find any wedding blogs that really fit into my taste and were also thinking about the big picture – a lot of them did a lot of reposting of “real life weddings” which were pretty, but ultimately not as helpful as they could be. I wanted more of an emphasis on the “how to” – how to pull it together, how to make the favors, how to choose between this and that. Since its inception, it’s sort of become my scrapbook of all the ideas I’ve had that I couldn’t incorporate (it’s hard to edit when great concepts are overflowing!) and stuff that I think is really great, chic, or inspiring, but maybe not quite “Maddy and Devon”.

Who writes this?
My name is Maddy, and I’m twenty-five. I’m a photo art director and graphic designer with a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design. I’m obsessed with letterpress (I own a Craftsman Imperial), baking (I love making and decorating cupcakes), and baseball (as a born and raised New Yorker, my heart belongs to the Yankees). I currently live in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with my fiance Devon and our two Bengal cats, Marlowe and Jocko.
