Celebrity Engagements: What Weddings to Expect

by Chie Leave a Comment

If you’re feeling a little stressed with all of your wedding planning, it’s nice to know you’re not alone. Even celebrities have to go through the decisions, the confirmation calls, the guest list debacles…admittedly, they may have help with high-priced wedding planners, but they still have to deal with their fair share of stress. Check out the celebrities who have gotten engaged recently and are planning (or soon will be planning) their weddings.

Michael Phelps and Nicole Johnson

In late February, superstar swimmer Michael Phelps popped the question to his former Miss California USA girlfriend Nicole Johnson. The couple has had an on-again off-again relationship since 2007, but their recent engagement speaks of their lasting commitment to each other. We’re not sure when this couple will officially tie the knot, but a 2015 ceremony is a good bet!

Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney

Another February engagement, Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney are already planning their wedding. It will include food catered from Lady Gaga’s parents’ Italian restaurant, and will be an intimate affair. The soon-to-be bride has already decided that her sister will serve as maid of honor!

Michelle Dockery and John Dineen

Can we first just say how much we love Michelle Dockery, who plays the unlucky-in-love Lady Mary Crawley on Downton Abbey? She is reportedly happier than ever since her recent engagement with boyfriend John Dineen; the couple was introduced by Downton co-star Allen Leech (better known to us all as the super dreamy Tom Branson).

Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder

Admittedly, our hearts were broken to hear of Ian Somerhalder’s split with Vampire Diaries co-star Nina Dobrev, but were thrilled all over again to see just how cute Ian and Nikki Reed (Twilight’s Rosalie) are together (awww…vampire love, y’all!). They started dating in July of 2014, and it seems that they have been inseparable since. It certainly seems legit, with both Ian and Nikki being compassionate individuals devoted to numerous charities and eco-awareness. We can’t wait to see what sort of wedding these two plan!

We can’t wait to see what each of these couples has up their sleeves when it comes to wedding décor and locations! Which one are you most excited to see?
