Hello everyone,
I wanted to let you all know of some changes happening to the Inspired Bride effective next week. In addition to our new contributing writers‘ posts beginning, the Inspired Bride is now going to begin accepting sponsored posts in two forms: sponsored giveaways, and sponsor profiles.
This was a really hard decision for me, and I want to be upfront and honest with you about it. The reality is that while I do make some money off of the Inspired Bride, it’s not even close to fully compensating me for the hours I put into it – which often nears (if not exceeds) an additional three work days each week. While I’ve always felt uncomfortable about selling post space on this blog, I’ve come to find that it’s something I have to do to sustain this blog.
Please know that I am fully committed to keeping the editorial voice of this blog intact. I am personally limiting sponsored posts of each kind to once a week (so there will be at maximum two in a given week), and sponsored giveaways to once in a calendar month. In addition, any advertisers interested in purchasing a sponsor profile space will have to meet a minimum ad buy in order to qualify, so the sponsored post area doesn’t become a free for all. All sponsored posts will be clearly marked as such, not only because the FTC requires me to – but because it’s always been very important to me to make to a sponsor’s presence known to you, even though in the past they weren’t paying for it.
Thank you for understanding my decision. If you interested in learning more about our advertising program or have any questions about it, please contact us through our ad page.
I’m super glad the way you have approached the matter and how you are communicating it to us!
I love your blog and support your decision, but just like you said: never loose your vision and voice 🙂
Thanks so much! I very much appreciate your feedback and your kind words!
No worries! I think it’s great; it is all part of truly being able to do what you love. I look at it as an even greater source of inspiration for us readers.
Thanks for your honestly and compassion. You will never lose your voice.
Maddy, first off, the prettiness on your blog is overwhelming me right now. It’s just all pretty, all the time right now. I’m on overload. Second, this is totally understandable. It’s something you have to do to keep the blogging going, and I bet your readers won’t mind a bit, because it means you’re still around to bring the amazing inspiration everyone’s come to know you for. 🙂
