i know that the contest is over but i wanted to share. <3 hope you dont mind.

Our Story

As silly as some thought it would be at first, we lived in separate states. There was just something about him. I knew I would fall in love with him.
While visiting family Colorado we met. Thought it was nothing more then a new friend i would never see again. As time went by we began texting and talking so much I couldn't get him out of my head. Until finally we admitted to one another this is much more then some puppy love and we need to give it a chance. Thats exactly what we did.
The summer before my senior year Josh came to Texas to visit me. It was the most amazing time(even though he was dying of heat lol). That year we spoke everyday. Never went to bed mad, and sent pictures of ourselves everyday so its like we were together. That christmas I got to go visit him. That was a little rocky, but still wonderful. I even kinda learned to snowboard.
Graduation and prom came and passed. Josh visited me one last time. Then I moved to colorado. What a year that was. The good bad and the ugly, but also the beauty. I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. After Josh graduated it was time to make a big decision in our lives.
We ended up moving to Texas living with my wonderful and gracious cousin and his wife.

My have the years been blessed. We met July 2007. Became bf/gf July 2009. I moved July of 2010. We moved July of 2011. He asked me to marry him February 7th 2012.
Were living out our love song. Im the happiest girl in the whole world. =]

The Proposal

The Shoes

With out knowing it my proposal was one in the same with my birthday present. Once it finally arrived via UPS my mom asked me to come over to help her with some papers(and josh wouldnt let me open it). For some odd reason my mom decided to video tape me opening it. (it was nicely duct taped as wrapping paper). Finally it was open. "Awe they are so pretty", Josh is down in front of me. "Read it Cassie." Gasping, "Oh!" I hugged him and was in complete shock. When my mother mentions, "I didnt hear a yes! Did you???"

It was my birthday and we were going out to dinner so I had just taken a shower, was in my bathrobe and had my hair up in a towel when he came over with my "birthday present." It was a huge box and looked like a set of dishes which I really needed. We hadn't even talked engagement or wedding so I was certainly surprised to find a little black box inside. Our engagement was just 3 months but things just fell into place and the wedding was lovely.

Our story... as told by Lauren:

David had spent two weeks in South Africa on an incredible trip with his MBA program, and he arrived back to Atlanta late Friday night (March 16). When we talked on the phone while he was away, David casually mentioned the idea of visiting some of the N. Georgia wineries on Saturday after his return, but I figured he would probably be too tired from impending jet-lag. After sleeping in Saturday morning, though, he still wanted to take a day drip up to some wineries. As we planned our afternoon, David called one of the vineyards to make lunch reservations and was told of a package deal with a local Bed & Breakfast nearby. We made the quick decision on a whim to stay the night up in the mountains on this beautiful day.

[What I did not know is this was no spontaneous decision for David -- he had the day planned out for weeks! David had actually driven up to Dahlonega weeks before to meet with staff at the wineries and the Bed & Breakfast to make sure the proposal would be just right. He's so strategic! In advance, David let the B&B staff know that he would call them the day we planned to check-in and make a pretend reservation. All the while, they were been planning on us arriving that evening. It must've been particularly entertaining for David when I asked him to inquire about AAA and military discounts while he was making his pretend reservation phone call]

We had the most wonderful afternoon tasting wines, dining al fresco for lunch, and enjoying the beautiful scenery and weather. We arrived before dinner-time to the B&B, which is perfectly situated on a hill overlooking Georgia's Blue Ridge Mountains. What amazing views from the rocking chairs on the main house front porch! We settled into our room and took a stroll around the property. As we walked back in to the main house, David bent down to one knee on the front porch and proposed to me, ring in hand! I was amazed, speechless, and only managed to say "oh my goodness" before a resounding "YES!" His timing was perfect -- we basked in the glow of engagement bliss just as the sun began to set over the mountains on Blueberry Hill. We then enjoyed chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne while rocking on the front porch.

And so here we are, after meeting over 2 years ago on a trip to Israel, newly engaged to be MARRIED! To describe us as happy and excited would be like describing August in Georgia as "a little warm" (don't worry; an August wedding is not in the cards). We are on Cloud Nine!! And we've quickly realized that half the thrill of being engaged to one another is hearing the wonderful wishes of our closest family and friends. We are so blessed to have this incredible support! Our engagement will be about 14 months total... We'll be married May 18, 2013.
