Kaycee and Mac’s wedding was the essence of Southern charm. Shared with us by Andie Freeman Photography, this wedding took place at The Corry House, a historic home near Union Point and located on the Ogeechee Plantation. It was so them, intimate and private, it was perfect. Both of their favorite moment on the wedding day was the time they got to share together before the wedding during our first look. Best wishes, Kaycee and Mac!
Extra Special Details
Kaycee had a first look with her dad. So sweet!
Kaycee’s dad was carrying her grandfather’s pocket watch, and Kaycee had a peanut lapel pin that belonged to her grandfather (the owner of Reed’s nuts).
Toasted pecans in pretty jars – the major DIY project was the favors. The bride’s family had a peanut and pecan farm in South Georgia. They decided to have toasted pecans in little jars with ribbon around them and had a bunch of my grandfather’s stuff used to decorate the table.
The ceremony took place at their forest site. A beautiful chapel like backdrop was crafted by Greg Hall, the event designer, in a forest grove and sunlight peeked through the trees as Kaycee and Mac said their vows.
The reception occurred in the barn and the guests danced the night away to the Dirk Howell Band and enjoyed the quaint southern charm of the Corry House grounds complete with horses, swings, and a treehouse.
How They Met
From the bride:
Mac and I met through mutual friends on Memorial Day 2012. Of course I thought he was super cute, but I didn’t think that he would ever be interested in me. I introduced myself to him and we started talking and ended up talking the majority of the night. We quickly became friends, but when he stated to leave I decided to be the bold one, so I asked him if he was going to get my number or not. I am so thankful I did, Mac texted me good morning the next morning and hasn’t missed a morning yet. Mac and I are a perfect match because we balance each other out . I am outgoing, he is shy. We laugh together, bring out the best in each other, we are best friends! Mac and I are alike enough to get along but different enough to stay together.
How He Popped The Question
Mac had an elaborate plan to propose, but I accidentally ruined his plan. So Mac was forced to just wing it. We were having a date night in and as we were watching tv and he got down on one knee.
