Cold but Warm

by Scarlet Leave a Comment

The cold did not bother Erik and Jamie as they snuggled and posed for their engagement photos. It was clearly snowy and chilly that day but looking at the whole gallery, my heart is all warm and fuzzy. It really is ironic that instead of things getting frozen, these two is melting your heart. We wish you all the best in the next chapter of your lives, Erik and Jamie. Congratulations!

The Concept:

I wanted to portray love, comfort, closeness. I wanted them to be themselves.

The Location:

The location was chosen simply because it is a really beautiful spot and I knew it would be especially beautiful in the winter with snow.

The Outfit Inspiration:

Jamie and Erik wanted something comfortable and casual. They wanted to feel like themselves. They are very outdoorsy kind of people and wanted outfits that portrayed their comfort in the outdoors.

A Hint For The Wedding Day:

The wedding was full of soft pastel colours, especially pinks, vintage décor, with a farm feel. So it was nothing like the engagement session.

The Photoshoot Experience:

My goal as a photographer is to make people feel super comfortable in front of the camera. I am always sure to chat a lot throughout the session, get to know the couple. We laugh, we talk about the upcoming wedding. I also am sure to give a lot of direction. I am the one behind the lens. I am the one seeing the whole scene. I am careful to make sure everything looks good, that nothing is in the shot that shouldn’t be, that the couple looks comfortable in their pose.

A Little Something About The Wedding:

The wedding took place in late August. It was a beautiful outdoor wedding on the farmland of Jamie’s Grandma. It was very soft and pretty, with lots of vintage themed décor.
