We can agree on two things about this feature today. One, that this is such a classy and colorful beach shoot of two beautiful people in love. And two, although there are a lot of visually pleasing photos present here, our favorite would have to be the candid ones of our couple’s proposal moments. It’s not everyday someone captures what true surprise and delight is and it’s nice to have such a memorable experience of your life documented beautifully too.
Here is what the photographer had to say about that amazing day
What do you think is the overall story for this album?
One of my best friends, Justie, thought she was only coming to model for me (Tasha Rae Photography) and help me with my stylized-Kate Spade inspire shoot. When I asked her boyfriend, Graham, and her to model I was not expecting him to approach me with the idea of proposing to Justie. Of course I told him YES! I was even more excited to put this together and I couldn’t wait to see the joy on my friends face.
We actually had to change locations because of the rain approaching. It was a VERY stressful day! Graham was so incredibly nervous and finally after an HOUR of time passing he popped the big question! Even though Justie’s friend Courtney, her mom, her grandmother, and her Sister (who also model for the session) were there so had NO idea. It was the best surprise and the most amazing experience as a photographer.
What inspired the outfits?
The outfits were completely inspired by my favorite designer, Kate Spade. Justie’s blue dress and Katie’s green dress are both Kate Spade.
What was your favorite part of the day?
Justie’s reaction when Graham got down on one knee to ask here to marry him!
Was there any Do it Yourself (DIY) projects? If so, can you describe them in detail?
The backdrop, it was constructed out of PVC pipe and the fabric was a table cloth. We used velcro to attach the tablecloth to the backdrop.
What were the highlights from the ceremony & reception?
The entire day was a highlight! BUT mainly the purposely, it was worth all the work and time.
