Registries for the Modern Bride and Groom

Living in fear of the inevitable crystal candy dish from Grandma Gertie? Pottery Barn a little too traditional for your speed and Crate and Barrel isn’t slick enough? Here are some modern, hip places that provide registries that you can use as primary lists or to pepper your gifts with something a little more contemporary.

CB2: Crate and Barrel’s younger, hipper little sister. Sleek, attractive furniture and home accessories in a surprisingly affordable price range.

Design Public: featuring some of the best designers in modern decor today, DP is a treasure trove of cool stuff. A little pricier overall, they do offer the option to buy giftcards you can use towards the purchase of something there if everything left on the list is outside of the guest’s afforability range.

Design Within Reach: if you’ve ever been in one of their stores, you know – it’s a design paradise. Higher end products and labels push up the price range, but gift cards are available to be purchased in different denominations.

Relish: an eclectic mix of great finds. Items can be found across a good variety of price points, and gift certificates are available for purchase so a guest can pay towards a higher end item.

Chiasso: like Relish, also has a lot of great finds over a wide price range.

Chiasso happens to be one of my favorite stores and was def a heavy player in my wedding registry :) Instead of registering at each of these stores individually, I created a registry on MyRegistry.com. Super easy to do, and I was able to add items from all of my fave stores like Chiasso, Crate & Barrel, and William Sonoma. They actually have a cool feature where if you register in-store at some places, you can synch your registry to the one you have online. That’s what I did with my William Sonoma registry…just in case my less tech savvy family members wanted to take a trip to the store.
